I get that a lot. “Asperger’s Syndrome? I don’t see that in you.” That’s because I’m 35 now, and I’ve learned to hide (or at least compensate for) much of my “aspiness” over the years. It wasn’t always as easy as I make it look, and some things still aren’t easy. It’s just that my outward reactions to things aren’t nearly identical to my inward reactions to things all the time. And I’ll let you in on a little secret. I’m probably not actually looking you in the eye when you talk to me. I watch lips, to make sure I’m not missing anything being said. Take that.
